Now that we are halfway into our official school year, here
are my little students on their first day. We rolled in from Lake City on
Sunday afternoon & had completed our first day within 24 hours! The kids
were excited & so was I. We woke up, enjoyed some delicious Betty Crocker
blueberry muffins then threw on some clothes & backpacks before heading to
school.
This is year six with Classical Conversations & for us,
it just gets better and better! I have continued to tutor Owen & Anson's
Foundations class of adorable four & five year olds...mostly boys, which
keeps me on my toes. I am certainly used to that with my little Valentine boys
I teach everyday : )
Charlotte started the Essentials program which is English
Grammar & Writing. We are both learning so much.
Our CC campus is filled to the brim with families we love
& is directed a friend who does an incredible job! Not only is it
organized, she delightfully leads us to walk closely with the Lord as we teach
at home & in the context of CC. Monday is my favorite day of the
week!
Here is our bunch back on day 1....
It is
hard to believe we have two kindergarteners around now! They are excited to
learn most every day. That cutie pie of a baby brother has really kicked the
three year old activity up a notch! Yikes!
As I say every year & nearly
every day I guess, homeschooling is some serious business, it is hard in more
ways than one, yet we trust that it is worth the dedication. I joke with Robby
that I would be the perfect homeschooling mom if my students would just be
perfect too ; ) Thankfully that is not the case. If it were, what would we need
God's grace for? He is stretching me with each passing day as I study material
& more often when I continually teach them (in the midst of all of our sin)
about who Jesus is, what He has done & how loving and trusting him
increases our joy in experiencing all he has given us to learn about. It's
funny because at this point, it is not the endless reading, math & grammar
lessons but the relationship issues are what wear me out the most! We are
thankful to have the opportunity to educate them in this way & pray for the
Lord's presence to continually be evident in our home as we wake up each
day.
