Relaxing in Kingwood

Quick post from Texas! Charlotte and I are having a lovely time relaxing at my parents house. We spent the majority of yesterday outside either in the front or backyard including playtime & meals. It was wonderful!! We are hoping for some more gorgeous weather today.

9 months old and counting!

Well well, Little Miss Charlotte turned 9 months old this week! It is hard to believe how quickly time is passing and how fast she is growing. We had a visit with the pediatrician and she is living up to her given name. "Charlotte" means petitie and womanly.....and that she is : ) She is 16 pounds 10 ounces & 27.5 inches long. She is a healthy girl with some chub chub on her thighs & cheeks along with a round little belly but much smaller over all than many other babies her age. She is definitely my daughter!

She is up to all sorts of new tricks including crawling everywhere she can, constantly stopping to do the downward facing dog yoga pose (hilarious!), pulls up onto her knees, has the sounds ba, da, ma, la & ya down pat, claps along to music or mommy's singing, flaps her hands like crazy when she is excited...just to name a few.

Her most likely furture career at this point is a mail carrier. Her toy of choice is her Fisher Price mailbox & pieces of mail. It is pretty much the only toy she is interested in when there are multiple ones to choose from. See pictures below...

I know many of you have enjoyed the videos of her licking the glass doors. Here she is licking the oven. It's not on, don't worry!

And her new favorite thing to crawl to........

She loves Bennett & Bella and anything that belongs to them, as they love Charlotte and anything that belongs to her...especially stuffed animals, socks etc.

Overall, we are doing great! Char & I are headed to Kingwood to visit my parents & brother next week. Texas here we come!! Can't wait to eat some good Mexican food, see some bluebonnets & enjoy some sweet time with family!

Resurrection Day

Happy Resurrection Day......a couple days late : ) We had a wonderful weekend with our sweet Charlotte! It started on Thursday night with a Maundy Thursday Service with our Celebration Community Church family. We met for the first time on the land we own and hope to build on in Celebration. It was sobering to remember what the night before the crucifixion must have been like for Jesus & the disciples. I enjoyed looking around the circle of people as we prayed at the end of the service just thinking about how not even 2 years has passed since we arrived here yet so many things have happened. The Lord has intertwined our hearts with many of those in our church family & is increasing our joy in serving Him here in Orlando.

We spent much of Saturday with the 3 of us & took Charlotte to a park to get some pictures of her in her Easter Dress. My Grandma Shirley gave it to her & I just love how sweet she looks in it! She did not like how long it was as it really got in the way of her crawling. When we picked her up from the nursery on Sunday morning, It was tied up around her belly, a very stylish look....only appropriate for a baby of course! On Sunday, a family from our neighborhood joined us at church then had lunch with us at our house. Their daughter Matilda is only 5 weeks older than Charlotte and they really enjoy playing together. We had a lovely spread of southern stuffed rosemary chicken, mashed potatoes, green beans & chocolate pie made from my Grandmother Alene's famous recipe. Deliciousness!

It is exciting to look forward to the coming years of celebrating the resurrection of Christ with Charlotte. Lord willing, with each year she will gain a greater understanding of the gospel knowing that Christ died for her sin & came to give her an abundant life. Here are some photos from our weekend:
