During our last week in Orlando we surprised the girls with a special date. They were adorable in their matching dresses & were delighted when we shared that we would be enjoying some time in Downtown Disney followed by lunch at the Rainforest Cafe. The Carousel was a "must ride." I have realized that carousels in general will most likely always remind me of our time in Central Florida since that is where the girls became addicted to going round & round : )
Our ride this time was no different, they were happy.....

and me, the sappy mama was thinking about all the rides we have enjoyed together, how for so long we had to stand right with them helping them hold on & now they are big enough to go up & down on their own! I looked at Eloise's cute little pink nails & Charlotte's long legs & wondered, where has the time gone? Soon enough the ride was over & we were on our way to enjoy lunch with some elephants & gorillas at the Rainforest Cafe!
We brought Charlotte here just before Owen & Anson were born & she loved it. She was happy to fill Eloise in on what to expect so little Lolo was quite prepared when we arrived. She put her frog hat on & looked around at all the moving creatures in the rainforest.
You can really see Char's bruising on her cheek & forehead from her "run in" with the truck the week prior....
Char drew an elephant while we waited for our lunch.
Like I said before, Charlotte filled Eloise in on what she remembered but failed to mention the rainstorm that happened every thirty minutes. As it started she became terrified & climbed into Robby' lap, hand on her mouth & finger in her belly button....strange yet adorable way to soothe ; )
Daddy did a great job protecting his littlest lady & even let her sit there for a long time past the rainstorm. She remained very cautious & did not tolerate her brave sister touching the leg of the elephant next to our table. Poor Eloise was sooo scared that the elephant was real & would hurt Charlotte. She was screaming "nooooooo!" & we finally had to ask Charlotte to stop what she was doing. Lunch was tasty but not as tasty as our bowls full of dirt with worms hanging over the sides. We had a little difficulty with the worms last time so we had a discussion about how God gave us teeth to chomp on those worms before swallowing them. Thankfully no one had to perform the Heimlich maneuver this time around & since we ordered two bowls, they needed help to finish up. I was happy to be of assistance.
and that was it, a simple date in our last week as a family in Orlando but one that will serve as a special memory for these two girls...and their mommy & daddy. I still don't think we are near ready for the T-Rex experience ; ) Maybe in a few years!
