Arlo at 3 months

Arlo is now three (and a half) months old. The giggles are in full swing, he is staying awake longer entertaining & being entertained by all those big brothers & sisters & loves to hitch a ride in the Ergo or sling anytime he can. I'm guessing he feels safer when up high compared to the height of others.

Eating & Sleeping: Our 24 hour routine has been fabulous starting about 2-3 weeks ago. He wakes around 8 & eats. I'm up a couple hours before him which gives me the opportunity to pump, stock up a freezer supply, allow someone else to enjoy giving him a bottle & leaving time for enough milk to be replenished to top him off after the bottle. I've never had that routine but it's probably because I have slept until I can sleep no longer due to 4 extra people in my bed ; )

Back to Arlo. He naps from 9:30- 11:30 then eats again. He can make it till about 1 before crashing. Sometimes he needs a snack, sometimes he is ready to snuggle up in his quiet room. He is up again around 3, eats then he's ready to party with the brood for a longer stretch. On occasion he will make it till bedtime around but he usually takes a quick cat nap for 30-45 minutes at 5. He eats again after that snooze, snuggles, reads books & is kissed by all until eating one more time as he drifts off to dreamland by 6:45 or 7. If he happens to last the whole time between afternoon nap & bedtime, he is content to go down at 6. The best part is he is sleeping without a peep for 12 + hours!

For the past 4 days we have woken him up closer to the 13 hour mark! It's been wonderful for us & he seems to be happy, well rested & chubbier by the day.

Other accomplishments:

• he now thoroughly enjoys tummy time stretching his head up nice & straight
• he's given the Bumbo a try
• he rolled himself tummy to back yesterday & was quite surprised with the change of scenery
• he laughed for the first time when Charlotte was blowing on his belly
• he really gets to giggling with me when I do loud kisses on his neck
• he falls asleep very quickly when put down to sleep
• he stares at his hands
• he attacks the animals on his bouncer
• he sneaks his thumb into his mouth every now & then...NOOOOO!
• he chugs a 7 ounce bottle first thing in the morning then wants to nurse until satisfied
• he doesn't mind some sugars from Bella Blue
