For our last evening in Dallas, Char & Elo got to dress up as little ladybugs & trick or treat for the first time. Charlotte was in a grumpy mood most of the day & every time I asked he if she was going to wear her ladybug costume she replied "no!" with some conviction. So I told her that Eloise was going to get her costume on & what do you know, Charlotte was all of the sudden very interested in dressing up too : ) Once the costume was on, she transformed into such a little sweetheart that was full of smiles.....crooked smiles as you see below! Ha! Eloise was a pretty happy little bug as well. Both costumes were perfect for the temperature that evening & for keeping those mean mosquitoes away from the chubby thighs.
The lovely little ladybugs, Charlotte & Eloise
We were going to wait till Thanksgiving to try the first solids but Eloise decided Halloween would be a better option & went for the pumpkin : )
Charlotte mesmerizing Eloise with her ladybug wand
Charlotte's new favorite candy...candy corn but she calls it "candy corny" It makes her smile that adorable smile
Charlotte & her Paw Paw. This picture makes my eyes fill up with tears because it reminds me of a picture of me dressed as a ballerina next to that same guy when I was a little girl.
Eloise & her GaGa who loves to kiss on those sweet cheeks
Me & the girlies, I was dressed as a mommy
Charlotte got the hang of Trick or Treating rather quickly & would run down the sidewalk saying "knock knock knock!" She was great at saying "Trick or Treat" & was quite polite saying "Thank you! Goodbye!" at each house. She called herself a Princess Ladybug the whole evening....love that! My favorite face she had was at the first house when they put candy in her basket. I don't think she understood us when we told her that would happen. She was in shock & couldn't stop staring at it. Eloise was content to be carried by either grandparent & watch the other crazy kids in the neighborhood run by us on the sidewalk.
It was an enjoyable night minus the fact that Robby was in Orlando & we were in Dallas. Next year will be special as the first family of four trick or treating adventure!
